"Gelato came about after I designed the Mixed Media pillows in AlterKnits. I had cut strips of silk by hand for that project. Sharon and I met on the last day I worked at The Yarn Garden. We stayed in touch and became good friends. I took them a prototype of a ball of silk I had created for the pillows and asked if they could find a source for the silk and production of what became Gelato. Sharon and I worked on the development of the color palette and product specs together. "
